Drums Update - 2005/11/25 12:24Hello everybody, well to start of with, an excellent site Ty keep up the good work its looking good mucker. Well 7 months spent in Iraq, went rather quick, again we spent all of it with Number Three Company what a shock hey!!!!!! The Drummers were commanded by an Officer called Mr Currie, the Drummers themselves done a very good kob, standards were set high as usual and they done themselves proud. I was the Multiple Commander of the Support Company attachments to the company with consisted of 4 snipers and 10 anti-tanks a good strong multiple so that was nice to have for the 7 months. We are now settling back into Aldershot and starting to frash out alot of music practise under the close full eye of Drum Major Tony Taylor, so as you can imagine his standards are extremely high which the Drummers need to kick them into play which is really pleasing to see. We are going on a well earned break for xmas and then we will most likely hit the ground running with music practise and alotof drill. Well for now I shall leave it there for now and I shall be in touch in the near future so everybody take care, Reagrds Sgt Ben Roberts.

Some excellent photos there mate!! can you email me the best platoon photo you have in Iraq, as big as you can please mate along with any other platoon photos that you may have too. There was a rumour that after 10 yrs you can trade them in for a younger model but I didn't have any energy left so thought I'd wait til maybe 20 by which time at least 2(?) of the offspring will of left home and the rest should all be in school all day, do you think he could handle them then??!!

Re:Drums Update - 2005/12/01 10:31No dramas mate, you want to try and have him as your store man, now thats hard work or what, no only joking. well since the last update things have been very busy, Tony is working us very hard and its really paying off. All the new lads are coming on in leaps and bounds and hopefully we will be getting more new draft in the near future, which Tony has worked his arse off for so thats really good to see and hear as well. Next Year as you can imagine is going to be hetic, with all the spring Drills going on so I think that will get the Corps to the usual high standard that evrybody expects fron the Coldstream Guards. Shall leave it there for now mate, take care all and shall chat more soon, Cheers Ben and Family.
